A House Designed for Gathering

The Desert Doghouse was designed for groups who want to spend meaningful time together in a setting that feels considered, comfortable, and distinctly removed from everyday life.

Each space serves a different purpose – some encourage conversation, others quiet retreat, and others a more social kind of energy – but all were designed with the same intention: to make time together feel natural.

Kitchen

Many guests cook together, while others bring in a private chef. Either way, the kitchen is always part of the social rhythm of a stay. Designed to accommodate large groups, it features a sixburner gas range, a second electric oven/microwave, and a large 48” refrigerator/freezer. The main kitchen is also supplemented by an outdoor barbecue kitchen and bar area

Dining Room

The dining room was designed for shared meals, celebrations, and the kind of conversations that continue long after the plates have been cleared.

Equally suited to an intimate dinner, a chef – led evening, or something more informal, the space feels elevated witho ut being overly formal.

Main Living Room

The living room is designed as a central gathering space – comfortable, welcoming, and easy to settle into at any hour of the day.

Whether the group gathers here for coffee in the morning, conversation before dinner, or a slower evening indoors, the atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and intentionally residential rather than formal.

Music / Game Room

This space brings a different energy to the house.

Designed for a more casual and social rhythm, it offers a place to play, listen to music, unwind, and spend time together in a less structured way. For many groups, these are the spaces where the most unplanned moments happen.

Library

The library offers a quieter atmosphere within the house.

A place for reading, conversation, or simply stepping away for a moment, it provides a different pace from the more communal areas. Not every part of a stay needs to be social. This space was designed with that in mind.

Fire Pit

Evenings in the desert tend to draw people outdoors.

The fire pit offers a natural place to gather as the temperature drops and the pace of the day begins to shift. Simple, understated, and deeply atmospheric, it is often one of the most quietly memorable parts of the stay.

Bedrooms

The house has six bedrooms. Five king and one queen beds comfortable sleep twelve guests. The master bedroom has its’ own en-suite bathroom. The upstairs king suite has it’s own terrace that is sometimes used by the group for stargazing or to o ff er a di ff erent outdoor environment after an afternoon at the pool.

“Al Fresco” Dining

The dining room was designed for shared meals, celebrations, and the kind of conversations that continue long after the plates have been cleared.

Upstairs Patio

The upstairs patio offers a more private vantage point across the surrounding desert landscape.

Well suited to a quiet morning from the adjacent bedroom, a drink at sunset, or simply a change of setting, it provides a sense of openness and perspective that feels distinct from the rest of the house.
